Terms of Service

Please read these terms carefully. They describe what Mind Reset provides, what it does not provide, and the rules that apply when you use it.

These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a binding agreement between you and Inner Work, LLC ("Inner Work," "we," "us," or "our") governing your access to and use of the Mind Reset mobile application, website, application programming interfaces, and related services (collectively, the "Service").

Mind Reset is not health care or an emergency service. It does not diagnose, treat, prevent, or cure any condition and is not a substitute for a licensed professional. If you may harm yourself or someone else, or face an emergency, stop using the Service and contact local emergency services or an appropriate crisis resource now.

1. Acceptance of these Terms

By accessing or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and acknowledge the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. If you use the Service on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization, and “you” includes that organization.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and legally capable of entering into this agreement. The Service is not offered to anyone barred from receiving it under applicable law. By using Mind Reset, you represent and warrant that you meet these requirements.

3. The Service

Mind Reset provides short, structured emotional-wellness tools, including guided calming, thought organization, emotion reflection, relationship-reply drafting, and sleep wind-down exercises. Some features use artificial intelligence to transform your input into a suggested reflection or next step.

The Service is designed for general informational and wellness purposes. It is not psychotherapy, counseling, medical advice, professional advice, diagnosis, treatment, risk assessment, crisis monitoring, or a provider-patient relationship. Inner Work is not acting as your doctor, therapist, counselor, lawyer, or other professional.

4. Important safety terms

  • No emergency monitoring. Mind Reset does not continuously monitor entries, guarantee detection of urgent situations, contact emergency services, or dispatch help.
  • Do not delay care. Never disregard or delay professional advice because of content presented by the Service.
  • Safety resources. Crisis and support links are provided for convenience. Availability, accuracy, geographic coverage, and response are controlled by third parties. Verify that a resource is appropriate for your location and circumstances.
  • Your judgment matters. You are responsible for deciding whether and how to act on any suggestion, including whether to send a drafted relationship message.

5. Anonymous accounts and privacy

The current Service creates a random, device-based anonymous account. You are responsible for maintaining control of your device and account credentials and for activity conducted through them. Do not attempt to transfer, sell, or share access credentials.

Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle information. You agree to provide accurate eligibility and consent information and to use the in-app controls or contact us if you wish to exercise available data rights.

6. Acceptable use

You may use the Service only for lawful, personal purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You must not:

  • use the Service to threaten, harass, exploit, manipulate, stalk, discriminate against, or harm any person;
  • seek or distribute instructions for violence, self-harm, abuse, unlawful conduct, or evasion of safety protections;
  • submit content you do not have the right to use, including another person’s confidential or personal information without authorization;
  • impersonate another person or misrepresent your affiliation;
  • probe, scan, interfere with, overload, reverse engineer, or circumvent security, rate limits, access controls, or safety features, except to the extent a restriction is prohibited by law;
  • use automated means to scrape, harvest, or access the Service without our written permission;
  • use the Service or its output to develop, train, benchmark, or improve a competing model or service without our written permission; or
  • use the Service for clinical decisions, emergency dispatch, high-impact decisions, or other purposes for which it is not designed.

We may investigate suspected misuse and cooperate with lawful requests. Safety protections are imperfect and do not replace your responsibility to use the Service appropriately.

7. AI-generated content

Artificial-intelligence output is probabilistic and may be incomplete, inaccurate, inappropriate, or similar to content produced for others. Output does not represent a factual finding about you or another person and should not be treated as professional advice. Do not rely on it as the sole basis for decisions that could materially affect health, safety, legal rights, finances, employment, housing, education, or another person.

You retain responsibility for reviewing, editing, and deciding whether to use or share output. In particular, Mind Reset never sends a relationship reply on your behalf. We do not guarantee that output will achieve a particular emotional, relational, sleep, or wellness result.

8. Content and intellectual property

Your content

As between you and Inner Work, you retain any rights you have in content you submit. You grant Inner Work a limited, worldwide, non-exclusive license to host, process, reproduce, and transmit that content solely as reasonably necessary to operate, secure, and improve the Service, comply with law, and enforce these Terms. This license ends when the content is deleted from active systems, subject to limited backup, security, and legal retention described in the Privacy Policy.

Our Service

The Service, including its software, design, text, branding, workflows, and other materials, is owned by Inner Work or its licensors and protected by intellectual-property laws. Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Service for personal, non-commercial purposes. No rights are granted by implication. “Mind Reset,” “Inner Work,” and associated marks may not be used without permission.

Feedback

If you voluntarily provide ideas or feedback, you grant us a perpetual, irrevocable, worldwide, royalty-free right to use it without restriction or compensation, without identifying you publicly.

9. Third-party services

The Service may link to Abeni, Apple, crisis resources, helplines, or other third parties. We do not control and are not responsible for third-party services, content, availability, security, or practices. Your use of those services is governed by their own terms. A link does not imply endorsement or a guarantee.

10. Changes, availability, and paid features

We may add, remove, limit, suspend, or modify features and may set usage limits. The Service may be unavailable because of maintenance, failure, network conditions, provider outages, or events outside our control. We do not promise uninterrupted or error-free operation.

If paid features are offered, the price, billing period, renewal terms, and cancellation method will be disclosed before purchase. Purchases made through an app store are also governed by that store’s billing and refund rules. Unless required by law, fees are non-refundable.

11. Suspension and termination

You may stop using Mind Reset at any time and may delete your anonymous account through the app. We may suspend or terminate access if we reasonably believe you violated these Terms, created risk or legal exposure, used the Service fraudulently, or if necessary to protect users or the Service. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination—including ownership, disclaimers, liability limits, indemnification, and dispute terms—will survive.

12. Disclaimers

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE SERVICE AND ALL CONTENT ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE.” INNER WORK AND ITS AFFILIATES, LICENSORS, AND SERVICE PROVIDERS DISCLAIM ALL EXPRESS, IMPLIED, AND STATUTORY WARRANTIES, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, ACCURACY, RELIABILITY, AVAILABILITY, AND THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE SECURE OR ERROR-FREE.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain warranty disclaimers, so some of the above may not apply to you.

13. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, INNER WORK AND ITS AFFILIATES, OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, LICENSORS, AND SERVICE PROVIDERS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, GOODWILL, USE, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES, ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO THE SERVICE, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY.

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THEIR TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THE SERVICE OR THESE TERMS WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID INNER WORK FOR MIND RESET DURING THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM OR (B) US$100.

These limitations do not apply to liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law. Nothing in these Terms limits non-waivable consumer rights.

14. Indemnification

To the extent permitted by law, you agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Inner Work and its affiliates, officers, employees, licensors, and service providers from claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and reasonable costs arising from your unlawful use of the Service, your content, or your material breach of these Terms. This obligation does not apply to the extent a claim results from Inner Work’s own unlawful conduct.

15. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois and applicable United States federal law, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Subject to non-waivable rights you may have under local law, the state and federal courts located in Cook County, Illinois will have exclusive jurisdiction over disputes arising from these Terms or the Service, and you consent to their personal jurisdiction.

Before filing a claim, you and Inner Work agree to make a good-faith effort for 30 days to resolve the dispute informally by sending a written description of the issue and requested relief to abeni@abeni.app. This requirement does not prevent either party from seeking urgent injunctive relief or filing in small-claims court where eligible. These Terms do not require arbitration and do not waive any right to a jury trial.

16. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. We will post the revised Terms and update the “Last updated” date. If changes are material, we will provide reasonable additional notice and request renewed acceptance where required. Continued use after the effective date of updated Terms constitutes acceptance to the extent permitted by law.

17. General terms and contact

If any provision is unenforceable, it will be modified only to the minimum extent necessary and the remaining provisions will remain in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not assign these Terms without our consent; we may assign them in connection with a reorganization, merger, acquisition, or transfer of the Service. These Terms and the Privacy Policy are the entire agreement regarding Mind Reset and supersede prior understandings about the Service.
