This Privacy Policy explains how Inner Work, LLC ("Inner Work," "we," "us," or "our") handles information when you use the Mind Reset mobile application, website, application programming interfaces, and related services (collectively, the "Services").
Mind Reset is a non-clinical emotional-wellness tool. It is not medical care, psychotherapy, crisis intervention, or an emergency service. Do not use the Services for emergencies. Contact local emergency services or an appropriate crisis resource if you or someone else may be in immediate danger.
1. Scope
This Policy applies to Mind Reset. It does not govern third-party websites, services, or applications linked from Mind Reset, including Abeni, app stores, crisis resources, or other external services. Their own privacy policies apply when you leave our Services.
Inner Work is not a health plan, health care clearinghouse, or health care provider offering clinical care through Mind Reset. Information submitted to Mind Reset is generally not protected health information under the U.S. Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA). Other privacy and consumer-protection laws may apply.
2. Information we handle
Information you provide
- Reset content. Text you enter for Brain Dump, Emotion Check, Relationship Reply, Sleep Reset, or related features; emotional labels and state ratings you select; and edits you make to generated results.
- Saved results. Structured reset results are stored in History only when you affirmatively choose to save them. Mind Reset does not automatically save your original free-form input to History.
- Consent and settings. Age-eligibility confirmation, consent version, approximate country or region supplied by your device, and product preferences.
- Communications. If you email us, we receive your email address and the information you include in your message.
Information created automatically
- Anonymous account data. The app creates a random device-based account identifier and authentication credentials. We do not require your name, email address, contacts, or social-media account to use the current version.
- Reset and service records. Tool type, status, configuration version, timestamps, saved-result status, request identifiers, and limited records needed to operate, secure, and troubleshoot the Services.
- Limited analytics. Discrete events such as onboarding completion, tool started or completed, approximate duration, app version, platform, error category, and safety-resource interactions. Analytics events do not contain your free-form reset input, generated output, email address, or phone number.
- Security and network data. Our infrastructure may process IP address, request headers, rate-limit data, and server logs to deliver and protect the Services. We do not persistently infer your region from your IP address for your Mind Reset profile.
The current app does not request access to your contacts, photos, precise location, microphone, health records, or advertising identifier. If a future feature requires additional device permission, we will explain the purpose and request permission before access.
3. How we use information
We use information to:
- provide, personalize, and complete the reset you request;
- create and authenticate your anonymous account;
- save, display, export, or delete results at your direction;
- detect content that should be routed away from a normal tool flow and display relevant safety resources;
- maintain security, prevent abuse, enforce usage limits, debug failures, and protect users and the Services;
- understand aggregate product performance and improve accessibility, reliability, and tool design;
- respond to communications and fulfill legal obligations; and
- establish, exercise, or defend legal claims.
We do not use your reset text or generated results for targeted advertising, sell them, or use them to build advertising profiles. We do not permit our AI provider to train its general models on your Mind Reset API content through our integration.
4. How information is disclosed
We may disclose information only as described below:
| RECIPIENT | PURPOSE AND INFORMATION |
|---|---|
| AI service provider | Reset input and limited context are transmitted through our server to generate structured output and support safety screening. Requests are configured not to be stored by the provider through the API setting used by Mind Reset, subject to limited retention the provider may be legally required to perform. |
| Infrastructure providers | Hosting, network, database, security, backup, and monitoring providers process service and network data to operate Mind Reset. |
| Apple and app distributors | App distribution, purchase, crash, or device information may be processed under the distributor’s own terms and privacy policy. |
| Authorities or other parties | We may disclose information when reasonably necessary to comply with law, valid legal process, protect rights and safety, investigate abuse, or in connection with a merger, financing, acquisition, reorganization, or sale of assets, subject to applicable law. |
Service providers may use information only to provide contracted services to us and must protect it appropriately. Mind Reset does not automatically contact emergency services, law enforcement, family members, employers, or health professionals based on what you enter.
5. Retention and deletion
- Unsaved input. Original free-form reset input is processed to generate your result but is not written to our application database or ordinary analytics logs.
- Saved History. Structured results remain available until you delete the item or your anonymous account, subject to backups and legal exceptions described below.
- Deleted items. Deleted reset items become unavailable immediately and are scheduled for physical deletion from the active database within 24 hours.
- Account deletion. Deleting your anonymous identity makes the account and its saved resets unavailable and revokes the current authentication credential. Associated content is scheduled for physical deletion under our deletion process.
- Analytics and safety records. Limited records use an irreversible hashed account reference, contain no free-form input or generated output, and are retained for no more than 90 days.
- Operational records and backups. Security logs, transaction records, and backups may persist for a limited period under our backup rotation or as required to maintain security, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, or comply with law. Deleted information is not restored to active use except when needed for disaster recovery, and will age out under the applicable rotation.
6. Your choices and rights
You can choose whether to save a generated result, delete individual saved resets from History, and delete your anonymous identity and all saved resets from the app’s Privacy & data controls. You can stop further collection by deleting the app after deleting your account.
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, portability, restriction, objection, or an appeal concerning personal information, and to withdraw consent where processing relies on consent. To submit a request, email abeni@abeni.app. We may need information sufficient to verify that the request relates to you or your anonymous account. We will not discriminate against you for exercising applicable privacy rights.
Because the current account is intentionally anonymous, we may be unable to associate an email request with a specific account if you no longer possess the app’s account credentials. The in-app deletion control is the most direct way to delete an anonymous account.
7. Security and incidents
We use administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed for the sensitivity of the information we process, including encrypted transport, access controls, authentication, data minimization, restricted analytics fields, dependency review, backups, and deletion procedures. No system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
If we discover a qualifying breach, we will investigate and provide notices to affected users, regulators, or others as required by applicable law. If the anonymous nature of the service prevents direct notice, we may provide notice through the app or website where legally permitted.
8. Age requirement
Mind Reset is intended only for individuals who are at least 18 years old. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a person under 18 has provided information, contact us so we can investigate and take appropriate action.
9. International use and transfers
Inner Work is based in the United States. Information may be processed and stored in the United States and other countries where our service providers operate. Those countries may have privacy laws different from those where you live. Where required, we use appropriate legal mechanisms for cross-border transfers.
10. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy to reflect changes in the Services, law, or our practices. We will post the updated Policy and revise the “Last updated” date. If a change materially affects how we handle previously collected information, we will provide additional notice or request consent when required.
